Bills Worked Out Seven Players Including DEs Damontre Moore & Marcus Smith

Update:

According to Howard Balzer, the Buffalo Bills brought in seven free agents for workouts this week including DE Damontre Moore and Marcus Smith.

The full list of tryouts for the Bills includes:

Of this group, the Bills signed Darr to their active roster.

Moore, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Giants back in 2013. He lasted over two years in New York before he was waived in December of last year.

The Dolphins wound up claiming him off of waivers from the Giants. However, he was later waived and signed by the Raiders before being cut loose in October. Moore eventually caught on with the Seahawks and finished out the year in Seattle.

Moore signed a two-year, $1.665 million contract that included a $100,000 signing bonus with the Cowboys and was set to make a base salary of $775,000 for the 2017 season when Dallas cut him loose in October.

Moore served a two-game suspension for violating the substance abuse policy to open the season. Since becoming a free agent, Moore has worked out for the Seahawks, Raiders, and Browns but left each meeting without a contract.

In 2017, Moore appeared in three games for the Cowboys and recorded five tackles and no sacks.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Bills are working out for Eagles first-round DE Marcus Smith on Tuesday.

This is the second tryout for Smith in the past few weeks, as he previously worked out for the Jets.

Back in August, Rapoport reported that Smith was leaning towards retirement and is not fully committed to playing in 2018. However, it appears as though he’s ready to continue his NFL career.

Smith, 26, is a former first-round pick of the Eagles back in 2014. The Eagles declined to pick up his fifth-year option last year and eventually cut him loose during the summer.

Smith signed a one-year contract with the Seahawks soon after and finished out the year in Seattle. He re-signed with the Seahawks this past offseason to a one-year contract worth up to $2.7 million, but was released during the preseason.

In 2017, Smith appeared in 14 games for the Seahawks and recorded 15 tackles, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and a pass defense.
