Braylon Edwards Still An Option For The Jets?

Jets GM John Idzik wouldn’t rule out the possibility of signing free agent Braylon Edwards at some point in the coming months.

“Guys like that will be under consideration as we go forward, for sure,” said Idzik during a conference call with season-ticket holders, per Manish Mehta.

The Jets brought in Edwards towards the end of the 2012 season, but with a new general manager in place, it seemed as though his chances of returning to New York were slim at best. A report from Brian Costello back in March suggested that they were at least considering the idea of re-signing Edwards, but wanted to see how things played out before revisiting the idea.

Edwards, 30, has found any interest on the open market, despite publicly lobbying for the Jets to re-sign him. New York didn’t add any help at receiver during the draft, so it seems realistic that they would consider bringing a veteran like Edwards to training camp to see what he has left.
