Broncos LT Ryan Clady Targeting A Similar Contract To Joe Thomas

Broncos left tackle Ryan Clady mentioned that he’s looking to secure a similar contract to that of Joe Thomas and Jason Peters.

“Just something comparable to Joe Thomas and Jason Peters,” Clady said, per Brad Gagnon“I feel like I’m in that category as far as tackles, so something along those lines.”

For comparison’s sake, Thomas signed an eight-year deal worth $92 million ($44 million guaranteed) while Peters agreed to a six-year contract that totaled $60.657 million ($25 million guaranteed).

According to Pro Football Focus, Clady graded out as the fourth-best tackle in all of football in 2012, and the Broncos will need to keep the blindside blocker to protect Peyton Manning in the coming years. The franchise tag remains a possibility if the two sides aren’t close to reaching an agreement in the next few days.

We have Clady listed as the No. 2 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
