Darren Wolfson is hearing that the Broncos have scheduled a workout with free agent QB Mitch Leidner for next week.
It’s been a few months since there was any reported interest in Leidner. After he was cut loose by the Vikings, Leidner tried out for the Jaguars, Falcons, and Patriots, but wasn’t signed by any of them.
Leidner, 23, wound up going undrafted out of Minnesota this March. Leidner previously tried out for the Ravens during their rookie minicamp but wasn’t signed to a contract following the session.
The Vikings signed him to a contract during the preseason only to cut him loose a few weeks later.
During his four-year college career, Leidner threw for 7,287 yards while completing 56.4 percent of his passes to go along with 36 touchdowns and 32 interceptions over the course of four years and 47 games.
