Mayfield landed on the list a few days ago as a potential close contact. But after going the required period of time without testing positive, he’s now free to rejoin the team and practice this week.
Mayfield, 25, is a former No. 1 overall pick of the Browns back in 2018. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $32,816,604 contract that includes a $21,946,620 signing bonus.
The Browns will have a fifth-year option to pick up on Mayfield next year.
In 2020, Mayfield has appeared in eight games for the Browns and completed 61.4 percent of his passes for 1,514 yards, 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He has also rushed for 65 yards.
