Burnett finished the 2019 season on injured reserve, making him expendable as the Browns look to shift gears at safety going forward.
Burnett, 31, is a former third-round pick of the Packers back in 2010. He’s played eight seasons for the Packers before agreeing to a three-year contract worth close to $14.5 million with the Steelers last year.
Pittsburgh cut Burnett loose during the offseason and he later signed a two-year contract worth up $9 million with $4 million fully guaranteed at signing.
In 2019, Burnett appeared in 10 games for the Browns and recorded 41 tackles, two sacks, and an interception.
