Buccaneers Sign G Ali Marpet To Five-Year, $55M Extension

The Buccaneers have signed G Ali Marpet to a five-year extension on Tuesday, according to his agency.

  • According to Mike Garafolo, Marpet receives a five-year, $55 million extension with $27.125 million guaranteed.

The Buccaneers have already confirmed the news.

Marpet’s new contract will keep him under team control through the 2023 season.

Marpet, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2015. He was in he final year of his four-year, $3,773,586 contract and set to make a base salary of $874,581 for the 2018 season.

Marpet would have been an unrestricted free agent in 2019.

In 2018, Marpet has appeared in four games for the Buccaneers and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 7 offensive tackle out of 71 qualifying players.
