California QB Davis Webb Visiting Chiefs & Jets This Week

Adam Caplan of ESPN is reporting that California QB Davis Webb will visit with the Chiefs on Monday and the Jets later this week.

Webb has previously met with the Seahawks and has come up as someone to watch for the Cardinals in round two. The Chargers are also expected to meet with Webb before the upcoming draft.

Senior Bowl director Phil Savage previously mentioned that the talk of Webb being a potential first-round pick is “legit.”

In fact, Jason Cole of B/R first reported that there’s a “growing sense” that Webb could end up being a first-round pick in this year’s draft. According to Cole, it’s possible a team could make a move up into the latter portion of round one to get Webb, as this would give them a fifth-year option on his rookie contract.

Webb, 22, is one of the more intriguing quarterback prospects in this year’s draft, as he possesses both good size and arm strength has reportedly been impressive in his interviews with NFL teams.

During his college career at Texas Tech and California, Webb threw for 9,852 yards while completing 61.5 percent of his passes to go along with 83 touchdowns and 34 interceptions.

We have him being selected by the Chiefs in the Second Round of our 2017 NFL Mock Draft.
