Cardinals QB Kyler Murray Day-To-Day With Sore Hamstring, Will Play If Able

Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury said first-round rookie QB Kyler Murray is “day-to-day” with a “sore” right hamstring and will have an MRI, per Josh Weinfuss

Kingsbury adds that Murray will play in the season finale against the Rams if he’s healthy enough to go, per Darren Urban. Though the Cardinals are out of playoff contention, Kingsbury believes playing would help develop Murray further.

Murray injured his hamstring early in the second half of Arizona’s win on Sunday against Seattle and did not return.

Murray, 22, was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Cardinals after making the decision to pursue an NFL career despite being drafted in the first round by the Oakland A’s in 2018.

According to OverTheCap.com, Murray receives a four-year, $35,158,644 deal that includes a $23,589,924 signing bonus.  The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Cardinals to pick up in 2022.

In 2019, Murray has appeared in 15 games for the Cardinals and completed 64.6 percent of his passes for 3,497 yards, 18 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Murray has also rushed 91 times for 544 yards and four touchdowns.
