Cardinals Sign OL Chilo Rachel

According to Mike Jureski of XTRA 910 radio, the Cardinals signed OL Chilo Rachal to a one-year contract.

Rachal, 27, had a forgettable 2012 season to say the least. He mysteriously left the Bears for a day, which led to him being benched in favor of Chris Spencer. Chicago subsequently placed him on the reserve/non-football injury list for the remainder of the season.

Pro Football Focus has him listed as the No. 152 out of 160 qualifying guards.

It makes sense that Arizona would consider bringing in some additional offensive line depth given how porous their unit was last season. It’s just hard to say that they’re getting a solid player here. It wouldn’t be surprising to see them target someone in the upcoming draft.
