Cardinals Sign Three To Practice Squad Including TE Gabe Holmes

The Arizona Cardinals announced that they’ve signed S Harlan Miller, OT Vinston Painter, and TE Gabe Holmes to their practice squad on Thursday and released QB Mike Bercovici and OT Storm Norton from the unit.

  • The Cardinals also placed TE Anthony Denham (knee) on the practice squad injured list.

The Cardinals’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. DT Pasoni Tasini
  2. TE Anthony Denham (Injured)
  3. LB Earl Okine
  4. DE Peli Anau
  5. DB Jarell Carter
  6. WR Alonzo Russell
  7. LB Kevin Snyder
  8. RB Darius Victor
  9. S Harlan Miller
  10. OT Vinston Painter
  11. TE Gabe Holmes

Holmes, 26, wound up signing on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Purdue back in May of 2015. He managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of preseason, but was cut loose just a few weeks later.

The Raiders later signed him to their practice squad after he cleared waivers and elected to bring Holmes back on a one-year, exclusive rights contract this past April. Unfortunately, Oakland waived him coming out of the preseason and he later signed on to the Seahawks’ practice squad.

Seattle elected to release him a few weeks ago and he later signed on to the Ravens’ practice squad.

Holmes has yet to appear in an NFL game.
