Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart Misses Another Practice, Still Has Shot At Playing This Weekend

Panthers head coach Ron Rivera mentioned that RB Jonathan Stewart still has a chance to be available for this weekend’s game against the Buccaneers.

“It’s coming along very well,” Rivera said, via Panthers.com. “He moved around an awful lot yesterday, so he was a little bit sore today — a little bit more than we anticipated. He’s moving around nicely. We are very encouraged.

Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart missed practice again on Tuesday due to a sprained ankle, according to Joe Person.

Regardless, Stewart will still make the trip with the Panthers to Florida and begin preparations for their season-opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. Head coach Ron Rivera said that Stewart’s ankle has improved, so Stewart should be considered questionable for the tilt this weekend. DeAngelo Williams could be in for a productive afternoon, assuming that Stewart sits.
