Chargers CB Chris Harris Jr Expected To Miss 4-6 Weeks With Foot Injury

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Chargers CB Chris Harris Jr suffered a foot injury during Sunday’s game against the Panthers that is expected to keep him out for at least a month and possibly up to six weeks.

You can expect the Chargers to place him on injured reserve in the coming days and add someone to their roster.

It’s worth mentioning that the NFL changed the rules regarding injured reserve for the 2020 season and players can return from the list in just three weeks.

Harris, 31, wound up signing on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Kansas back in 2011. He has played all seven years of his NFL career in Denver.

Harris was entering the final year of his five-year, $42.5 million contract and set to make a base salary of $7.8 million for the 2019 season when Denver signed him to a new, one-year, $12.05 million deal last year.

From there, Harris agreed to a two-year deal worth more than $20 million this past March.

In 2020, Harris has appeared in three games for the Chargers and recorded 15 tackles, no interceptions, and a pass defense.
