Chargers Waive WR Vincent Brown

Michael Gehlken of the Union-Tribute San Diego reports that the Chargers are waiving WR Vincent Brown as the work to get their roster down to 53 players.

According to Gehlken, Brown is still dealing with a calf injury, but is expected to end up on another team’s roster. He was considered to be a promising young receiver just a few years ago, so this is a somewhat surprising move.

Brown, 25, is a former third-round pick and is entering the final season of his rookie contract. He is set to make $645,000 for the upcoming season.

Last year, Brown appeared in all 16 games for the Chargers and caught 41 passes for 472 yards receiving and one touchdown.
