Chiefs Could Be Leaning Towards Taking Eric Fisher No. 1 Overall

Daniel Jeremiah of the NFL Network “wouldn’t be shocked” if the Kansas City Chiefs elected to take Central Michigan OT Eric Fisher with No. 1 overall pick next Thursday.

  • Jeremiah adds that there’s a “lot of buzz” supporting this idea right now.

Texas A&M OT Luke Joeckel has been the consensus first pick in the draft for months now, even there has been an growing number of draft experts who see Fisher as the best player in the draft.

Either way, it seems almost certain that the Chiefs will take an offensive tackle first overall, assuming of course that they’re unable to trade back.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter mentioned earlier in the day that he expects Joeckel, Fisher and Oklahoma OT Lane Johnson to be drafted within the first seven picks, and “maybe sooner.”

It will be interesting to see if the Chargers or the Dolphins are willing to move up an secure one of these three players, seeing as both teams have obvious needs at left tackle.
