Chiefs Place RB Jamaal Charles On Season Ending IR

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley confirmed that Jamaal Charles did indeed tear his ACL during yesterdays game and added that the Chiefs will place him on season-ending injured reserve.

Charles is only 24 years old so there’s still a very good chance that he can return and resume a productive career for the Chiefs.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles has suffered a torn ACL and is likely done for the rest of the 2011 season. Schefter adds that Charlers will undergo an MRI on Monday but as of right now it doesn’t look good for.

The Chiefs have been outscored 89-10 in their first two games of the season so the loss of Charles would leave them in as bad of shape as any NFL team. Several rumors have Todd Haley on the hot seat and at this point, they seem to be justified.
