Chiefs Sign TE Richard Gordon, Waive TE Phillip Supernaw

The Kansas City Chiefs officially signed TE Richard Gordon to a contract on Monday and waived TE Phillip Supernaw in a subsequent roster move.

Gordon, 27, was taken in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Raiders. He spent two years with Oakland before he was waived and later caught on with the Steelers.

The Chiefs signed him to a contract at the end of last season and later gave him a one-year extension. However, he was unable to make the final 53-man roster coming out of the preseason.

The Titans signed him to a contract back in October, but he lasted just a few days with them before being placed on waivers.

Last year, Gordon appeared in two games and caught just one pass for three yards.
