Chiefs Waive DB Akeem Davis

The Kansas City Chiefs officially placed DB Akeem Davis on waivers Wednesday to make room for DB Brock Vereen, who was claimed off of waivers.

Davis, 26, originally signed on with the Redskins back in 2014. He was on and off of Washington’s practice squad during his rookie season before being waived coming out of the preseason last year.

Davis bounced around with the Saints, Buccaneers, and Seahawks in 2015 before being claimed off of waivers by the Colts in December. Indianapolis re-signed Davis to a one-year exclusive rights contract a few months ago, but was unfortunately waived in May.

The Chiefs signed him to a contract a month later.

In 2015, Davis was active for six games and recorded two tackles and a forced fumble.
