Chiefs Waive RB Cyrus Gray

The Kansas City Chiefs announced that they’ve placed RB Cyrus Gray on waivers Wednesday.

Gray, 25, has one year remaining on his four-year, $2.168 million rookie contract that included a $68,000 signing bonus. He stands to make a base salary of $660,000 for the 2015 season.

According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Gray will free up $668,500 in available cap space while creating $26,918 in dead money.

Kansas City took Gray in the sixth-round of the 2012 NFL draft.

In 2014, Gray appeared in nine games for the Chiefs and ran for 31 yards on eight carries (3.9 YPC) and scored one rushing touchdown.
