Colts Re-Sign QB Chad Kelly To Practice Squad, Release OT Tyree St. Louis

The Indianapolis Colts announced Thursday that they’ve officially re-signed QB Chad Kelly to their practice squad and released OT Tyree St. Louis from the unit.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that the Colts are expected to re-sign QB Chad Kelly to their practice squad now that he has officially passed through waivers unclaimed on Thursday. 

Kelly, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Broncos back in 2017. He signed a four-year, $2.464 million contract that included a $64,270 signing bonus, but was waived in October of last year after being arrested on a charge of first-degree criminal trespassing.

Last month, Kelly pleaded guilty to misdemeanor second-degree criminal trespassing and was sentenced to one year of supervised probation and 50 hours of community service. He had the first-degree felony first-degree criminal trespassing charge was dropped as part of the plea agreement.

The Colts waived Kelly on Wednesday after serving his two-game suspension. 

During his college career, Kelly threw for 6,858 yards while completing 63.9 percent of his passes to go along with 50 touchdowns and 21 interceptions.
