The Indianapolis Colts announced that they have signed former Bears and Dolphins G Lance Louis to a reserve/future contract on Wednesday.
Typically, these contracts are reserved for young players who the team is hoping to give a shot to compete for a roster spot during training camp.
Louis, 28, was a fairly serviceable player for the Bears a few years ago, but he was forced to sign a one-year deal on the open market after he suffered a torn ACL.
The Colts obviously need more depth at guard, so it makes sense that they would roll the dice on a guy who could prove to be worthy of roster spot if his surgically repaired knee improves.
