The Indianapolis Colts announced Saturday that they’ve waived WR Mo Alie-Cox with an injury designation and signed TE Steven Wroblewski.
Should Alie-Cox pass through waivers unclaimed, he would revert to the team’s injured reserve list on Sunday.
Alie-Cox has had a boot on his lower left leg the past few days.
Alie-Cox, 23, is making the transition to football as a tight end, but was not draft eligible this year, which allowed him sign on with a team of his choosing. He drew interest from several teams before eventually agreeing to a contract with the Colts back in April.
During his four-year career at VCU, Alie-Cox totaled 1,092 points, 633 rebounds, 112 assists, 88 steals and 255 blocks over the course of 142 games.
