Colts Will Not Trade Peyton Manning

ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweets that the Indianapolis Colts will not trade Peyton Manning but adds that a release is possible depending on the condition of his neck.

The Colts will have to make a decision regarding Manning’s future with the team before March 8th which is when his $28 million extension is due.

At this point it’s hard to image that the Colts would be willing to pay him that kind of money even if his neck is fully healed so a release seems likely but there’s a chance that he could renegotiate a contract with the Colts after being let go.

The Jets and Redskins keep coming up as speculative options but it’s hard to gauge the likelihood of either option at this point in time.
