District Attorney: No “Active Investigation” Involving Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill

District Attorney Steve Howe tells Brooke Pryor of the Kansas City Star that there’s currently no active investigation into the child abuse case involving Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill

Howe added his comments from a few months ago that he believes Hill’s three-year-old son had been hurt but couldn’t prove who did it “still hold true.

Pryor spoke to Hill’s attorney, Trey Pettlon, who said Friday that the criminal case had been closed for a while.

“It’s my understanding the criminal investigation has been closed for quite some time now and obviously there’s been some misinformation about that, but it is closed,” Pettlon said.

Meanwhile, KCTV 5 reports that Hill will not face any criminal charges and the case is now officially closed.

The Chiefs have suspended Hill from all team-related activities and one report said that the NFL could place Hill on the commissioner’s exempt list. Although, this has yet to happen.

Hill, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2016. He is entering the final year of his four-year, $2.58 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $1,965,036 for the 2019 season.

In 2018, Hill appeared in 16 games for the Chiefs and caught 87 passes for 1,479 yards receiving and 12 touchdowns to go along with 151 yards rushing and a touchdown. Hill also totaled 213 punt returns and one touchdown. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 7 receiver out of 117 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Hill as the news is available.
