Dolphins Activate CB Xavien Howard, Cut Two

The Miami Dolphins announced Thursday that they’ve activated CB Xavien Howard from their Reserve/COVID-19 list and the PUP list.

Miami also signed DE Avery Moss and waived CB Picasso Nelson Jr. and C Donell Stanley.

Howard, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2016. He was in the final year of his four-year, $6,128,038 and set to make a base salary of $1,285,641 for the 2019 season when he agreed to a five-year, $76.5 million extension that includes $46 million guaranteed with Miami last offseason.

Howard tore his ACL last year and is still working his way back to health. Miami placed Howard on injured reserve last October.

In 2019, Howard appeared in five games for the Dolphins and recorded 17 tackles, one interception, and four pass defenses.
