Dolphins DL William Hayes Out For Season With Torn ACL

Dolphins HC Adam Gase announced Monday that veteran DL William Hayes is out for the season with a torn ACL.

Gase said that Hayes was trying not to put body weight on the quarterback on the sack in which he got hurt.

“It’s going to be a tough one for us to swallow,” Gase said, per Adam Beasley.

You can expect the Dolphins to place him on injured reserve in the coming days and add someone to their roster.

Hayes, 33, is a former fourth-round pick of the Titans back in 2008. He spent four years in Tennessee before signing on with the Rams in 2012. The Rams later traded Hayes and seventh-round pick to the Dolphins last year for a sixth-round pick.

Hayes played out his three-year, $21 million contract before returning to the Dolphins on a one-year contract this past March.

In 2018, Hayes appeared in three games for the Dolphins and recorded four tackles and two sacks.
