Dolphins Renegotiate WR Albert Wilson’s Deal

According to Field Yates, the Dolphins and WR Albert Wilson have agreed to a renegotiated deal for 2020.

Wilson is now set to make a $3 million base salary next season with an additional $1 million available from incentives.

Wilson’s base salary for 2020 was originally set to be $9.475 million, so this is a significant pay cut. However, given the state of the wide receiver market this offseason, Wilson will still likely make more than he would have had Miami released him outright.

After dealing with injuries the past few seasons, Wilson will look to finally deliver on the potential Miami saw when it signed him in free agency two seasons ago.

Wilson, 27, signed on with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia State back in 2014. He finished the final year of a three-year, $1,540,000 contract before returning to the Chiefs on a one-year restricted deal worth $1.797 million for the 2017 season.

The Dolphins signed Wilson in 2018 to a three-year, $24 million contract that included $14.45 million guaranteed.

In 2019, Wilson appeared in 13 games for the Dolphins and caught 43 passes for 351 yards receiving and one touchdown. He also added five carries for 45 yards.
