Chiefs Prepared To Franchise WR Dwayne Bowe For The Second Straight Season?

ESPN’s Adam Schefter stated on Tuesday morning’s SportsCenter that that the Kansas City Chiefs could end up franchising WR Dwayne Bowe for the second straight offseason.

“The Chiefs are gonna figure out a way to keep him,” said Schefter, via Rotoworld.com.

All indications suggest that the Chiefs front office has Bowe as a part of their long-term plans. The franchise tag figures to be more of a temporary move that would buy them some additional time to work out a long-term contract.

The franchise tag will run Kansas City over $11 million, so you can see they would obviously like to reduce that figure by replacing it with a long-term agreement.

Vincent Jackson‘s contract of five years, $55 million figures to be the type of deal that free agent receivers like Bowe, Greg Jennings and Mike Wallace look to as a comparative deal.

We have Bowe listed as the No. 4 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
