Eagles Interested In Trading Up For LSU WR Odell Beckham?

Peter King of MMQB.com is “hearing” that the Eagles want in on “the prime receiver action,” and are reportedly targeting LSU WR Odell Beckham Jr.

However, King believes they would most likely have to trade up in order to draft him. According to King, Eagles GM Howie Roseman has been in contract with “at least two teams in the mid-round neighborhood” and has been  doing his due diligence on Beckham as well.

King admits that trading up could be “too rich for the Eagles’ blood” and they may have to settle for someone like USC’s Marqise Lee or Oregon State’s Brandin Cooks at No. 22 overall.

Beckham is widely considered to be the third best receiver in a very deep receiver class. Last year, he caught 59 passes for 1,152 yards and 8 touchdowns for the Tigers while also serving as the team’s kick returner.

Beckham offers plenty of versatility as a receiver given that he’s capable of playing multiple receiver positions and contributing as a kick returner as well.

We have the Eagles taking Lee in the first round of our recently updated 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
