Eagles Reportedly Offered Raiders Second-Round Pick For Amari Cooper

Mike Silver reports that the Eagles offered a second-round pick for Raiders WR Amari Cooper last week, but Oakland was holding out for a first-round pick and eventually secured one from the Cowboys on Monday.

Reports from this past weekend mentioned that the Eagles were looking to add a speedy receiver before the trade deadline, so this doesn’t come as a complete surprise.

Dallas was reportedly the team to watch for Cooper and it’s possible that the Eagles offering a second-round pick is what pushed them to include a first rounder to get the former first-round pick.

Cooper, 24, is a former No. 4 overall pick by the Raiders out of Alabama in the 2015 NFL Draft. He is entering the final year of his four-year, $22.7 million fully guaranteed rookie contract and is set to earn a base salary of  $705,000 for 2018 to go along with a $2,825,426 roster bonus.

The Raiders picked up Cooper’s fifth-year option back in April, which will cost them $13,924,000 for the 2019 season.

In 2018, Cooper has appeared in five games for the Raiders and caught 22 passes for 280 yards receiving and one touchdown. He has also rushed for nine yards on one carry.
