Eagles Place G Andrew Gardner On I.R. & Sign & OL Julian Vandervelde

The Philadelphia Eagles announced a series of roster moves Tuesday morning.

They wound up placing both K Cody Parkey and G Andrew Gardner on season-ending injured reserve, and signed K Caleb Sturgis and OL Julian Vandervelde to contracts.

Gardner, 29, sustained a foot injury in Week 3’s game, and was seen wearing a walking boot after the game had concluded.

He signed a four-year, $5.495 million contract extension with the Eagles a few weeks back, which included a $500,000 signing bonus. Gardner stands to make a base salary of $795,000 for the 2015 season.

Vandervelde, 27, is a former fifth-round pick of the Eagles back in 2011. However, he lasted just over a year with the team before he was placed on waivers and later claimed by the Buccaneers.

Philadelphia signed him to a future/reserve contract in December of last year, but waived him with an injury settlement before the start of the regular season.

Last year, Vandervelde appeared in 14 games for the Eagles.
