The Philadelphia Eagles officially released veteran OT Tyreek Burwell on Tuesday.
This comes just a day after Burwell announced that he’s retiring from the NFL.
Burwell, 27, wound up signing on with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Cincinnati back in 2015. He was on and off of the Chargers’ practice squad over the next two years.
The Colts later signed Burwell to their practice squad during the 2017 season. He was eventually waived with an injury settlement at the start of last year and he sat out the season. The Eagles elected to sign him to a futures contract this past January.
For his career, Burwell appeared in 17 games as a reserve offensive lineman.
