The Philadelphia Eagles waived veteran LBย Brad Jones on Wednesday, according to the NFL transactions release.
- The Eagles also announced that they’ve re-signed OLย Julian Vandervelde.
Jones, 29, signed a two-year, $2.85 million contractย that includedย $500,000 signing bonus with the Eagles back in March. He stands to makeย base salaries ofย $850,000ย andย $1.4 million over the next two years.
He’ll need to pass through waivers before he can sign on with a team of his choosing.
This season, Jones has appeared in seven games and recorded five tackles for the Eagles.
Vandervelde, 27, is a former fifth-round pick of the Eagles back in 2011. However, he lasted just over a year with the team before he was placed on waivers and later claimed by the Buccaneers.
Philadelphia signed him to a future/reserve contract in December of last year, but waived him with anย injury settlement before the start of the regular season.
Last year,ย Vandervelde appeared in 14 games for the Eagles.
