Falcons Made Calls About Moving Up As High As No. 2 Overall, Redskins Unlikely To Trade Pick

According to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, the Falcons have been aggressive this week in calling teams high up including trying to get all the way to No. 2 overall for Ohio State DE Chase Young.

However, Glazer says the Redskins haven’t seemed to entertain offers to move out of the No. 2 spot and Young is too highly regarded in their organization to pass on him.

Earlier in the day, Ian Rapoport mentioned that Atlanta has talked to teams in the top 10 picks about a big move up the board in round one with Ohio State CB Jeffrey Okudah and Florida CB C.J. Henderson being two possible targets for the Falcons.

Rapoport did say that the Falcons have done a lot of homework on the top offensive tackle prospects in this year’s draft class, so that’s another possibility to keep an eye on.

Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff has also never shown himself to be shy about moving up for players he likes, most notably when Atlanta traded up for WR Julio Jones back in 2011.

We’ll have more on the Falcons as the news is available.
