Falcons Moving On From Veteran G Ben Garland

D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that veteran G Ben Garland will not be back with the Falcons for the 2019 season.

The Falcons have already undergone some roster turnover in recent weeks, cutting DE Brooks Reed and CB Robert Alford

Atlanta did, however, sign OL Ty Sambrailo to a three-year extension on Tuesday.

Garland, 30, originally signed on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Air Force back in 2010. He spent over five years in Denver before he was waived at the start of the 2015 season and later signed to the Falcons’ practice squad.

The Falcons brought Garland on a one-year restricted contract worth $2,914,000 for the 2018 season.

In 2018, Garland appeared in 14 games for the Falcons and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 14 guard out of 77 qualifying players.
