Falcons Release Veteran OT Tyler Polumbus

The Atlanta Falcons announced Tuesday that they’ve released veteran OT Tyler Polumbus to make room for TE Mickey Shuler, who signed to a contract.

Polumbus, 30, originally signed on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2008. He has since played for the Lions, Seahawks and Redskins.

The Falcons signed him to a contract shortly after this year’s NFL draft to bolster their offensive tackle depth, but they’ve since added Jake Long to their roster.

In 2014, Polumbus appeared in 11 games for the Redskins and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 62 offensive tackle out of 84 qualifying players.
