Falcons Trying Out Free Agent WR Carlton Mitchell

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Falcons are trying out free agent WR Carlton Mitchell this week.

Mitchell, 27, is a former sixth round pick of the Browns back in 2010. He spent two years with the Browns before he was waived at the start of the 2012 season. Since then, Mitchell has had brief stints with the Jaguars, Cowboys and Buccaneers.

This is the first reported interest in Mitchell since the 2013 season, so we’ll have to see if he’s able to impress the Falcons enough to earn an invite to training camp.

Mitchell last appeared in an NFL game during the 2011 season when he caught three passes for 21 yards receiving and no touchdowns for the Browns.
