Former Falcons LB Prince Shembo Suspended Two Games

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the NFL has suspended free agent LB Prince Shembo two games for a policy violation.

The Falcons wasted no time in cutting Shembo loose last year after he kicked and ultimately killed the little dog. Here’s the statement the Falcons released after cutting Shembo:

We are aware of the charges that have been filed against Prince Shembo. We are extremely disappointed that one of our players is involved in something like this. Accordingly, we have decided to waive Prince Shembo.”

There hasn’t been any reported interest in him since this incident.

Shembo, 24, was taken in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL draft. He had three years remaining on his four-year, $2,520,484 rookie contract when the Falcons pulled the plug on him last summer.

In 2014, Shembo appeared in all 16 games for the Falcons and recorded 58 tackles.
