Former Steelers FB Roosevelt Nix Retiring From NFL

Veteran FB Roosevelt Nix announced via his Instagram account that he’s retiring from the NFL.

Nix, 29, originally signed on with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of Kent State back in 2014. He was unable to make the 53-man roster and sat out the entire 2014 season before signing a future/reserve contract with the Steelers in January of 2015.

The Steelers elected to sign him to one-year exclusive rights deals in 2016 and 2017. He signed a four-year, $6.975 million extension after making the Pro Bowl in 2017, but was released by the Steelers last year.

Nix was signed to a one-year deal by the Colts but was later released coming out of training camp.

For his career, Nix appeared in 60 games and rushed for four yards on four carries to go along with 12 receptions for 69 yards receiving and one touchdown over the course of five seasons.
