Franchise Tag Still A Possibility For The Falcons

Previous reports indicated that the Atlanta Falcons had no plans to use their franchise tag on any of their free agents in coming days. According to Pro Football Talk, Atlanta hasn’t ruled out the use of the designation and S William Moore would be the “most obvious candidate” if they were to use it.

It seems as though NFL teams are comfortable paying $6.798 million to safeties, and there’s no doubt that Moore represents one of the best available options on the market.

Moore, 27, was rated as the No. 18 best safety in the league by Pro Football Focus. He’s said that he was hoping to test the free agent market, but there appears to be at least a decent chance he receives the franchise tag between now and March 4.

We have Moore listed as the No. 30 best available player in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
