Howard Balzer of LockerDome.com first reported that the Jets hosted free agent WR Jacoby Ford and G Rich Ohrnberger for visits in recent days.
Ford reportedly met with the Jets a few weeks ago, however, a deal was never agreed upon.
Ford, 26, was a fourth-round pick of the Raiders out of Clemson back in 2010. He is a classic Al Davis-pick given that he has a track background and posted a 4.28 forty at the 2010 Scouting Combine.
Ford has yet to develop into a reliable weapon as a receiver. Last year, he appeared in 14 games for the Raiders and caught just 13 receptions for 99 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
It’s worth noting that Ford was the worst rated kicker returner in the league last year, according to Pro Football Focus.
Ohrnberger, 28, is a former fourth round draft pick of the Patriots back in 2009. He spent last season with the Chargers and appeared in 13 games, but played just 210 snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.
