Giants Bringing In Former Patriots LB Jonathan Freeny For Visit

Jordan Raanan of ESPN reports that the Giants are bringing in former Patriots LB Jonathan Freeny for a visit in the coming days.

Freeny, 28, originally signed on with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers back in 2011. He spent four years in Miami before signing on with the Patriots as an unrestricted free agent in 2015.

The Patriots signed him to a two-year contract extension coming out of the preason last year but elected to cut him loose on Saturday as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players.

In 2016, Freeny appeared five games for the Patriots and recorded 10 tackles and a forced fumble.
