Dan Duggan of the Athletic reports that the Giants are signing Rutgers punter Ryan Anderson to a contract after he tried out for the team during their rookie minicamp this weekend.
Anderson will get the opportunity to compete with Riley Dixon for the Giants’ punter spot this summer.
Anderson confirmed the news via his Twitter account:
Words canโt describe how grateful I am to the New York Giants organization for making a lifelong dream of mine come true. Thank you to everybody who has helped me along the way! Iโm officially a New York Football Giant! #NYGiants #NFL pic.twitter.com/o2VrXJ9qJF

Anderson wound up going undrafted out of Rutgers last week. He originally began his college career at Saginaw Valley State before transferring to Olivet for the 2015 season.
Anderson played two seasons at Olivet before transferring to Rutgers last year.
During his one season at Rutgers, Anderson totaled 3,508 punt yards on 79 attempts (44.4 YPC), which was No. 1 in the Big Ten in both total yards and yards per punt.
