Giants Waive Five Players

The New York Giants announced Monday that they’ve placed five players on waivers including S Ryan Murphy, P Austin Rehkow, WR Canaan Severin, RB Terrell Watson and G Damien Mama.

Murphy, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Seahawks in 2015. He was, unfortunately, unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but later signed on to the Broncos’ practice squad at the start of the regular season.

Murphy was actually sent home just before the Super Bowl after he was questioned in a prostitution sting.

The Broncos brought Murphy back on a future/reserve contract before later waiving him just a few days after the 2016 draft.

The Giants later signed him to their practice squad and brought him back on a future/reserve contract last year. Unfortunately, the Giants waived him coming out of the preseason and later signed him to their practice squad before being called up in December.

In 2017, Murphy appeared in three games for the Giants and recorded one tackle.
