Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that the people behind HBO’s โHard Knocksโ are interested in featuring the Jets this summer.
However, Mehta says that the feeling isn’t mutual and the Jets have privately expressed their desire to be featured on the show.
As of now, the Jets haven’t had any formal discussions with NFL Films and New York is unlikely to volunteer to be on the show.
It’s worth mentioning that the Jets are not one of the teams the NFL can force to appear on the show, given that they hired a new head coach in Adam Gase this offseason.
There are only five teams who could be forced to appear on โHard Knocksโ this year including the Lions, Raiders, Giants, 49ers and Redskins.
Sources have told Mehta that NFL Films plans to open conversations with potential teams in March about appearing on the show.
We’ll have more regarding the Jets and “Hard Knocks” as the news is available.
