Jaguars Cut Three Including RB Benny Cunningham, Sign Three

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Sunday that they’ve released RB Benny Cunningham with an injury settlement and waived OL Jordan Agasiva and OL Andrew Lauderdale.

The Jaguars also signed OL Ben Ijalana, TE Ethan Wolf and OL Ka’John Armstrong to contracts.

Cunningham, 29, wound up signing on with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Middle Tennessee State back in 2013. After four years with the Rams, the Bears signed him to a one-year contract in 2017 and again for 2018.

The Jaguars signed Cunningham to a contract back in April.

In 2018, Cunningham appeared in 15 games and rushed for 20 yards on 11 carries (1.8 YPC) to go along with one reception for nine yards receiving. He also contributed 173 kick return yards.

Ijalana, 30, is a former second-round pick of the Colts back in 2011. He lasted just over a year in Indianapolis before he was waived and later claimed off of waivers by the Jets.

Ijalana signed a two-year, $11 million contract with the Jets in 2017. However, New York declined his option last year only to re-sign him in March.

In 2017, Ijalana was active for 11 games and played a total of 56 snaps for the Jets, according to Pro Football Focus.
