Jacksonville Jaguars GM Gene Smith told a number of fans that the team’s top offseason priority will be to re-sign their veteran free agents like: DE Jeremy Mincey, CB Rashean Mathis, S Dwight Lowery, and DE Matt Roth, via Jaguars.com.
New owner Shahid Khan mentioned multiple times that he intends to spend up to the cap limit to put a quality team on the field.
“In free agency, you have to spend money. You have to spend it wisely. We’re going to be spending to the cap,” said Khan.
As for the players previously mentioned, all helped contribute to the teams defensive turnaround from the #28 overall defense to the #6 defense this season. Mincey figures to be at the top of that list as he put together an incredible season for the Jaguars d-line.
