The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Saturday that they’ve promoted RB Nathan Cottrell and TE Ben Ellefson to their active roster for Sunday’s game against the Colts.
Cottrell, 24, wound up going undrafted out of Georgia Tech back in April. He later signed a three-year, $2.28 million contract with the Jaguars.
However, Jacksonville opted to waive Cottrell coming out of camp and later re-signed him to their practice squad.
During his five-year college career at Georgia Tech, Cottrell rushed for 640 yards on 82 carries (7.8 YPC) to go along with six receptions for 72 yards receiving and five total touchdowns over the course of 40 games.
