Jaguars Sign DT Roy Miller & CB Alan Ball

Roy Miller

The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed free agent DT Roy Miller to a two-year contract, according to his agent Mike McCartney.

Miller, 25, had interest from the Buccaneers would have liked to retain him, but apparently his asking price was too much for their liking.

Jacksonville lost Terrance Knighton after he reached an agreement with the Broncos, so they clearly needed some additional defensive tackle. Miller is really more of a run-stopper, but that’s exactly the type of player he’ll be replacing next season.

We had him listed as the No. 44 best available player in our recently updated Top 50 Free Agents list.

Alan Ball

John Oehser reports that the Jaguars also signed former Texans CB Alan Ball.

Jacksonville needs additional cornerback help after losing Derek Cox to the Chargers earlier in the week. Their secondary was terrible last season, but they’ll still need to find more upgrades than just Ball.
