Jamaal Charles Suffered A Knee Bruise In Week 2

Chiefs head coach Romeo Crenell said RB Jamaal Charles suffered a knee bruise in the team’s week two loss to the Bills, per Randy Covitz of the Kansas City Star.

“(Charles) fell on his knee, got bruised, came up limping, so we took him out rather than leave him in there and expose him a little bit more,” Crennel said of not using Charles much in the second half, via Covitz. “Then as it developed, the other players were doing decent, so we didn’t feel a need to put him back at that moment.”

Although it’s an injury, this is good news for the Chiefs and Charles. Initially, it seemed as though Charles’ lack of touches was due to a serious injury, perhaps to his surgically repaired ACL. Charles did go through a full practice on Wednesday. With Charles not 100 percent fully healthy, Peyton Hillis figures to get his fair share of touches against the Saints on Sunday
